Live After FiveLive After Five
Presented by Anchorage Downtown Partnership

Free Event - No Ticket Needed

Join us from 5:30 – 7:30pm every THURSDAY night in Town Square Park for the Live After Five music series! This fun, annual, free event features good eats, a beer & wine garden, and live music from local & out-of-state artists! The 2017 season runs from June 8th – August 10th.

This weekly Thursday night concert series is held each summer in Town Square Park (last year it was Friday nights!) Whether in rain or shine, this fun event is a perfect gathering place for you and your friends after work. Come (or stay) downtown, enjoy the outdoor seating and tables, kick back with your beverage of choice, and soak in the summer fun. These concerts are guaranteed to end your week right.

Summer Schedule

Below is the schedule of our concert performers!

  • June 8 –H3
You know them, You love them. Everybody’s favorite Hawaiian Reggae band is back for another Live after Five performance. Last year we sold out of food and beer with over 1,000 people in attendance. Make sure to come out early to get a spot on the dance floor.

  • June 15 – Blackwater Railroad Company
Alaska’s biggest folk-rock band is back at Live After Five to get everybody dancing. As part of their ‘rock the recession’ tour of the state they are incorporating two free sets of music open to the public in what will prove to be a terrific night of music for all ages.

  • June 22 – Pretty Gritty and Small Souls
Do not miss Pretty Gritty with special guests Small Souls, a pair of Portland folk-rock/americana duos sharing a stage (and members) for a collaborative concert event. Pretty Gritty’s debut album, featuring Keller Williams, won three IMC awards in 2012. Their outstanding live performance has earned them a reputation as one of the more talented artists currently making music in the pacific northwest.

  • June 29 – The Dirty Hands
One of the most unique and varied live shows in Alaska, The Dirty Hands continue to win fans by challenging the status quo with a mixture of styles and musical influences. The band provides numerous arrangements organized for any size venue or atmosphere. From full on festival rock outs, to intimate, small bars; The Dirty Hands’ music has no rhythmic, melodic, or dynamic boundary.

  • July 6 – Emma Hill & Co.
Emma Hill is a decorated Alaska music veteran and all around powerhouse. She is coming to Live After Five with a special all-star collection including Kat Moore from the Super Saturated Sugar Strings. Alaskan singer/songwriter Emma Hill and her co-writer/musician Bryan Daste have quickly made a massive impact with their alt/folk songs and their penchant for touching upon the deepest, most universal of subjects. They’ve been compared to Gillian Welch and David Rawlings, and their fourth album proves they’re not just a one-off, fly-by-night duo.

  • July 13 – Woodrow
Woodrow’s well-crafted songs have the hooky melodies and pop sensibility of artists like The Rolling Stones and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, coupled with the beautiful dynamics of Hum or Death Cab For Cutie. With songwriter Jared Woods on vocals and guitar, his brother Christian Woods on bass and vocals and Rob Rood on drums, Woodrow is made up of three of Alaska’s finest musicians. The guys in the band are all suckers for classic rock-n-roll and love vocal harmonies.

  • July 20 – Life Ain’t Fairview Trio
Fan favorite Orion Donicht is back with his punk-folk trio to rock the masses. This is the can’t miss show of the season if you are ready to party.

  • July 27 – Conway Seavey Band
After this power pop trio rocked our NYE celebration we had to have them back to Town Square Park. Conway Seavey is a singer/songwriter and producer based Anchorage, Alaska. Born into a dog mushing family in Sterling AK, he chose to follow his passion as a musician. Most inspired by Maroon 5, Ed Sheeran and Bruno Mars, Conway is one of the foremost Pop/Top 40 artists in Alaska. Last spring he returned from a 6-week national tour with his band and dropped his first full-length album on March 24th.

  • August 3 – Searson
Searson has toured for well over a decade and have the confidence and drive to continue with their musical careers more than ever before. Sisters, Erin and Colleen Searson have developed their own original style of high energy fiddling, passionate vocals and step dancing.

  • August 10 – I Like Robots
This is our grand finale! Come to our final Life after five to see the fantastic music by I Like Robots! I Like Robots covers all types of music such as Pop – Pop / Rock, Cover Bands, Alternative – New Wave. Look forward to seeing you at our Last Live After Five of the 2017 Season!
