A Holiday concert featuring the 9th Army Band and special guests.

Join us for this festive holiday celebration that is sure to become an annual favorite for you, your family, and your friends! Featuring performances by the jazz band, rock band, and concert bands as well as a visit from a very special guest. Come enjoy this free concert.

The 9th Army “Arctic Warrior” Band is composed of soldiers who serve U.S. Army Alaska by providing music through the full spectrum of military operations. Their goal is to instill in soldiers the will to fight and win, foster the support of citizens, and promote national interests at home and abroad.

Seating is general admission and no ticket is required. Admission is FREE.

Join us for TubaChristmas 2019 — a FREE Community Event!

We’ll be hosting this year in the Carr-Gottstein Lobby (Discovery Theatre Orchestra Level Lobby).

Make it a Christmas Picnic — come early (11:00 AM), bring your own camping chair and snacks and congregate in the lobby! (no alcohol will be permitted) We’ll have some fun activities as we await the joyful sounds of TubaChristmas! Performance starts at 12pm in the lobby!

TubaChristmas was conceived in 1974 as a tribute to the late artist/teacher William J. Bell, born on Christmas Day, 1902. Today, TubaChristmas is presented in 200 cities throughout the United States, Canada and Switzerland.

Seating is limited. Bring your own lawn chair. Admission is FREE.

Join Anchorage Downtown Partnership, Ltd. for the annual New Year’s Eve Celebration on Tuesday, December 31st, 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. This year’s celebration will take place at the EasyPark Chinook Lot, donated by EasyPark, on 3rd Avenue between C and E Streets.

This free community event will feature a beer garden, popular local band Those Guys AK, food vendors and exhibitors, a neon light-up sledding hill, AND FIREWORKS!

Start 2020 with new energy…join the PAC and Anchorage Yoga for this FREE Community event!

A Sound Bath is an immersion in sound frequency that promotes relaxation on a deep level. Instruments such as the harmonium, chimes, gong, and crystal & Tibetan singing bowls are played. With the body in a supported savasana (lying down) one becomes suspended in a world of vibration, soft sensations, heightened awareness, and peace. After this 60 min experience, you will leave feeling rejuvenated and vibrantly alive.

What to bring and wear: Yoga mat, blanket, pillow, bolster, water, anything to make you feel comfortable and cozy while lying down.

Time: 1:00 PM — 2:00 PM (come a little early to get comfy)

Where: The PAC’s Lorene Harrison Lobby (on the Atwood Concert Hall side of the building)
